Kawai mobile Concert Piano


Roselyn invested early on in the piece in 88 keys of glory from Kawai. A weighted keyboard with a DI for maximum sound quality through front of house.


Relying on the heritage of Kawai's highly acclaimed MP9000 and MP95000 stage pianos, this beast boasts high-quality instrument sounds. Including Kawai's famous Concert Grand piano sound. It incorporates the Advanced Hammer Action IV with AR technology, featuring a graded-hammer action, the AHA IV delivers uncompromising feel in a portable keyboard action.

It also features many of the powerful controller functions , including 4-zone control, real-time control knobs. A back light LCD, MIDI I/O, USB connectivity, reverb and effect types add to the power and convenience. Combined with the damper pedal. The Kawai is out to impress. I bought the keyboard of Mark Vanilau - who plays keys for Dave Dobbin. So it has to be good!

Extensive research went into my Personal Amplifier purchase. At the end of the day the extra investment meant that I could have the best of both worlds.

1. A PA system that was easy to use and maneuver and 2. The best on the market for acoustic 1 musician sound in my opinion. The system is in the same world but on a totally different planet to its competitors. The system boast 180 degree sound projection, meanings only one stick is required to power out the sound. Its lightweight and compact yet a grunty wee machine!


Bose is taking sound back to the roots. The system is set up behind or beside the musician. So the sound projection comes from the musician not from the left and right of a stage like it has been traditionally arranged. This adds effect to live performances - the sound is now coming from the musician.


More believable, more enjoyable, more intimate - the way live music should be!

What makes the L1™ portable line array so different?

It begins with the shape. Each L1™ system contains a column of many closely spaced drivers mounted in a tall, slim enclosure. This unusual design has profound effects on the sound.


Consistent sound levels

Because of its shape, the L1™ system projects sound waves that expand out and to the sides, but sends very little up and down. Sound spreads more evenly across the stage and into the audience, and the sound level drops off much more slowly than from a conventional speaker.

For example, imagine a conventional speaker and an L1 system placed side by side, set to produce the same sound level at a distance of one meter. At 10 meters away, the conventional source already has 10 times less sound intensity than the L1 system.

Sound levels stay so consistent throughout the venue, there's no need for separate monitor and PA speaker systems—and the L1™ system provides sound for both stage and audience. You have complete control over your sound, and you no longer have to wonder what your audience is hearing.

Smooth, uniform sound coverage

L1™ systems spread the sound at nearly 180 degrees, so tone quality stays smooth and even from side to side. The L1™ Model II system takes this uniform coverage even further with proprietary Bose® Articulated Array® speaker technology. Individual drivers in the line array are angled slightly to the sides in an alternating pattern to help deliver our smoothest, most uniform coverage. Even people off to the sides can enjoy crisp, detailed sound.

Less reverb

L1™ systems also produce much less reverberation than a typical sound system. Conventional speakers direct a lot of sound energy up towards the ceiling, where it gets reflected back down as reverb. Monitor wedges, usually angled towards the back wall, add to the problem. L1™ systems confine most of their sound energy in a wide, flat wedge of sound, projecting very little to the upper walls and ceiling. Sound remains clear and detailed, even in the back of the room.

Sound from an L1™ system is so consistent throughout the venue, you and your audience can enjoy full, detailed, tonally balanced sound. Whether you're at the front of the stage or the back of the house, in front of the speaker or off to the side.

The ToneMatch™ audio engine puts our largest library of customized presets at your command. These presets instantly adjust your system to match the intended natural sound of popular instruments and microphones. So you reproduce factory-specified tonal balance—precisely and at the touch of a button.

Different presets can be independently assigned to the engine's four channels. For example, select Audix® OM5 mic presets for channels 1 and 2, Taylor® guitar for channel 3 and Lakland® bass for channel 4—all at the same time.

Suite of effects and dynamics processing

Globally assign one of five different reverbs to each mic/line channel. You can also choose from three delay types, ten additional effects, and seven dynamics processors—and assign them independently to each channel.


Custom scenes

Store your customized settings for specific gigs with the "scenes" feature. The engine comes with five predefined Bose scenes and ten you can define. Fast, one-touch scene recall helps you make quick work of repeat setups.


Easy connections

Simply link the engine to an L1™ Model II system via the included digital cable—and rev it up. A sleek bracket is also included to attach the engine to the loudspeaker. For easy connection to a Model I system, use an analog cable and a T1 power supply.

ToneMatch™ presets
Proprietary presets optimize L1 system to match intended natural sound of specific instruments and vocal mics. Presets are organized into quick-access banks and can be independently assigned to each channel. Free ongoing updates via USB connection between your computer and ToneMatch audio engine. See list of current presets.

Proprietary zEQ automatically adjusts the range of tone controls to match your voice or instrument, making it easier to fine tune your sound. Conventional mixers may have fixed EQ ranges that don't accurately affect desired frequencies when adjusted. But zEQ appropriately redefines low, mid and high frequency ranges of specified sources.

Single-band parametric equaliser centre's on frequency you specify for each independent channel. Valuable tool for reshaping problematic frequencies in certain venues.

Select from five reverb types: small, medium, large, plate and cavern. Quickly assign global reverb type to desired channels and control individual channel's decay time, brightness and mix level.

Choose from analog, digital or tape delay. Independently assign different delay settings for desired channels—with control over feedback time and mix level for each channel. For example, you can select tape delay for your vocal on channel 1 and analog delay for your guitar on channel 2.

Modulation effects
Independently assign 10 different modulation effects: three chorus types, two flange types, four phaser types and one vintage tremolo effect. Gives you discrete control over designated parameters for each channel.

Dynamics processing
Apply and adjust dynamic sound processing to independent channels. Choose from three different compression types, plus a limiter, de-esser, kick gate and noise gate.

Store, recall and edit performance "scenes"—snapshots of key ToneMatch audio engine settings at any given time. Includes five predefined Bose® scenes, five My scenes and five Shared scenes you can give to other L1 owners. Scenes help simplify and reduce setup time when you're using an L1™ system repeatedly in different venues.
